We decided to go see Iris. This is a Cirque du Soleil show in Hollywood (now defunct).

It's in a theater which was once called the Kodak Theater, but later changed its name to the Dolby Theater. I guess Kodak didn't want to pay to put its name on it any more. The theater is in a shopping mall called Hollywood and Highland, named after the two streets that cross nearby. The area is a tourist haven, as the theater is where the Academy Awards are held each year, in addition to being right smack next to Grauman's Chinese Theater (with all the hand and footprints in concrete out front), across from the El Capitan theater (currently owned by Disney).

So we went into Hollywood, and had dinner at the nicest restaurant that was very close, which turned out to be a place called The Grill on Hollywood. It was nice, too. Tablecloths, dim ambient lighting, good food. So here we were sitting at our table and across from us was this power couple. They were both dressed in black, and the entire time they sat before their dinner came they were both on their iphones and never talked.
