Bodie Decay

I think I have talked a lot about Bodie in the past, so here is a quick summary. It's a ghost town in the California Sierra Nevada mountains. It is relatively well preserved and open to the public, though you have to bring your own water and food. No services.
The buildings in better repair are locked up. You can't get in. I suppose this is to keep people from going in and trashing the buildings even further. A state of Arrested Decay, they call it.
Well, this was the living room of a house on the outskirts of town, in (relatively) good condition. I smashed my camera lens up against the window and took a photo. The lighter part of the picture in the upper right is where some reflection was caught off the window in spite of my smashing.
Why on earth do I love abandoned places? No idea. I just do. They speak to me of history, of things long gone, of people that once lived, as if there is a story waiting to be discovered but just out of reach.
