It was a family party. One of those big ones. I forget the occasion, it was probably a combined birthday party for cousins or sisters-in-law and their significant others. These parties are sort of overwhelming to me, and I liked to be smiley and socially acceptable and endearing for a while, but then turtle. I was turtling at the dining room table, or rather the breakfast nook table. There were some mighty comfortable chairs at that table and I was doing OK there sipping a non-alcoholic beverage of my choice. Things happened around me, but not too me. It did get a bit boring though. So I took photos. Interestingly, there was a sunflower in the middle of the table. Just one, sticking out of a vase with some water. I hate sunflowers. They are disconcerting because: 1. They have some sort of very large brown furry center that make me think of decay and cancerous growths 2. They are yellow, and I don't like yellow 3. They are too large and intimidating, and no flower should be intimidating. Fortunately, this sunflower was facing away from me. I took a photograph of it to help pass the time. Here it is.
