Getty Museum Ass

We went to the Getty museum.

There are two Getty museums now. The original is a large romanesque estate in Malibu. It never had good parking and was just too small for the way the collection had grown. So some years ago they built a new museum on the hills overlooking Santa Monica. It's big, and beautiful, and has a great view.

You park down the hill in a large parking garage, something like a mile away from the museum complex of buildings. Then you take a tram up the hill to the main entrance which has some very large steps rising to the entryway. There is some art presented on the steps getting you in the mood for the collection inside.

This fine sculpture stands smack in the middle of the entry, greeting all visitors. It really was nice. He was very well done. Realistic in every detail. Just standing there. Greeting you. Like, oh hai.

Well, I just had to take some pictures, you know? So I took this one (and a variety of others which I am not sharing with you). I liked the curves and how the sun lit the curves and created curves of its own.
