Avalon, on Catalina island (not the one from King Arthur legends). You can rent small golf carts at the rate of $40 per hour to get around town. Cars exist but there aren’t a lot of them, as there aren’t many places to go. The golf carts are actually pretty cool; they zip around and take you everywhere you want to go pretty quickly, as any place you would want to go is pretty close. The rental ones are clearly marked with signs that say “TOURIST” in red block letters. Any house you can see from the water, such as these, are very expensive and belong to rich people because they have views. There are a lot of places that don’t have views, which are also expensive, but are occupied by poor people. It was a beautiful day and I loved the feeling of cool air on my skin as I zipped along in my rented cart.

Ziiiippp.
