Chambord in Heat

This is a panorama combining several photos pasted together. Unfortunately, it is woefully inadequate in presenting the impressive nature of Chambord, the chateau in the Loire valley in France. It was huge, with several wings, ornate roofs and minarets and a variety of pointy things. It was a sweltering, miserable hot day, and I wish I could have been more aggressive about running around and getting photos of the exterior, but we had limited time and frankly if I ventured more than a few feet from the shade I started melting. "I'm melting, I'm melting...." Yes. It's true. So I took some woefully inadequate photos instead. Had I not started melting, I could probably have taken a photo like this one:

But nooooooo, I had to melt instead.
